The band's third album titled Dust was released on April 29, 2016. The album was recorded at the same time as their previous album, and Tremonti said he \"wanted to make sure both albums flowed dynamically. If there were two slow moody songs, [he]'d put one on each album, same thing if there were two really heavy aggressive songs, [he] would split them up evenly. There's isn't a specific theme to one or the other. Each record is mixed\"[4] and that \"it's definitely not the 'b-sides' of this album\".[5]
Mark Tremonti, in February, announced the band's fourth studio album A Dying Machine to be released on June 8, 2018, through Napalm Records. The album is produced by Michael Baskette, who produced all the band's previous albums and the last four Alter Bridge records as well. The listening party and performance event for A Dying Machine were both held on May 12. Tremonti supported Iron Maiden on their European tour in June 2018.[6] In late 2018, drummer Garrett Whitlock didn't tour with the band due to a necessary leave of absence for undisclosed personal reasons. Ryan Bennett, a longtime friend of guitarist Eric Friedman, filled in on drums when the tour kicked off in Philadelphia on September 15.[7] It was later confirmed that Bennett would be a permanent replacement for Whitlock.[8] After the band's tour with Sevendust in April, Tremonti said he will go back recording new Alter Bridge record set for October 2019, while interminently tour with his band: \"We're gonna go into studio in March and April. And then after that, I go back on tour with Tremonti and then go back on tour with Alter Bridge this winter.\"[9]
In February 2009, Clint Lowery issued an update for the band since \"there hasn't been an official statement given\" in sometime by the group stating it was unlikely that the album would be given an official release but that he would find out if there was a chance of the album being made available on iTunes. Despite this he stated that his update didn't clear much up and that the future of the group \"doesn't look good\".[37]
In February 2010, it was announced that drummer Will Hunt, currently with Evanescence, would join Black Label Society for the recording of their new album as well as touring with the group.[42] As of June 2010, Hunt is the full-time drummer of Crossfade and has recorded one album with them, We All Bleed, which is set for an April 2011 release via Eleven Seven Music.
On September 1 via Twitter, Dark New Day guitarist Clint Lowery posted \"Cool, 2 new complete dnd records will be available on iTunes and other digital stores soon. Some real cool unreleased material. Stay tuned!.\"[44] This was followed by another message by Lowery a day later stating \"FYI- Dark new day \"hail Mary\" and \"B-sides\" albums should be available next week on iTunes etc. if all goes well. Was a long time coming.\"[45] The released Hail Mary and B-Sides digitally, but have since been removed.[46][47]
On January 6, 2012, the band announced their new record titled New Tradition would be released on February 28. The first single entitled \"New Tradition\" was sent to radio stations the same day. Clint Lowery posted the following statement; \"We're very excited about the new DARK NEW DAY release. It seems the time is right to make these songs public and share with the fans that continue to support this project. We believe this music is still very valid and powerful today, and think its mandatory we give these songs a fair chance out in the music world. We owe it to ourselves and the DARK NEW DAY fans. 'New Tradition' sums up the mindset we were in writing the follow-up to 'Twelve Year Silence'.\"[48] Many of the tracks from 'New Tradition' were previously released on the B-Sides and Hail Mary albums. Brett Hestla said about the album:
I'm late to the party, but I would like to say that this remains one of my favorite OCR albums to date. SCIV is one of my favorite OSTs of all time and all the Remixers have done a great job capturing not only the sound, but also the atmosphere of the game.
My favorite on this album is Slimy's Deadly Furniture. To me, the source seems to convey a sort of 'twisted ballroom' for the main hall of Dracula's castle - Slimy's interpretation brought all of the neat orchestral-sounding bits of the source to life, almost seeming to give the strings and percussion a life of their own. I still sometimes jump when I hear that bright progression cut through the quiet tension at 2:15.
Long time since release, but I have to say it: this is a really amazing album! I always loved Castlevania IV and its soundtrack, so \"weird\" and unique, and it's a pity that most of the tracks (with the exception of Simon's theme) are so underrated and almost no decent covers of them. This album, homever, makes justice. A great tribute to a great soundtrack. In contrast to the previous two volumes of this trilogy, this third one feels more varied, balanced and consistent. Many metal tracks, many orchestrals, many synth/electroincs and many everything, but all in its proper way. Making something with such a variety and experimentation while keeping a very own personality on it does not seems to be an easy task, but you all did it very well. Also a very nice job from Chernabogue to direct and manage the project and keeping it always alive and progressing despite the difficulties in the way (yes, I very rarely post something but I'm very often reading \"in lurker mode\" :P). It was also a nice experience to go to the \"online listening party\" that Hallowen night, despite the confussions with the schudule. The first and only one I went to, and hope to go to many more later. Some good remixes from musicians I already knew and liked (especially the one by Goat) and some others I just discovered in this release and I liked very much too (Slimy's orchestrals are really nice and interesting, as well as Timaeus222's crazy remix for the Treasure Room, and the \"unofficial group\" formed by Jorito, Tuberz, Keskitalo, etc has a very unique and interesting style too). It was great to listen to very nice remixes of very-little-remixed tracks like the Sumerged City, the Forest, the Dark Cellar, the \"giant lamps' screen\", etc too. This is an album where everything is worth, from the shortest interludes and narrations to the most complex and well-made music. No fillers nor questionable-quality stuff included. If you are one of those many who, as me, always loved the original Super Castlevania IV and its weird and unique soundtrack, this album is the perfect tribute to it and you will sure love it as much as I do too. And if someone liked this album and did not played the game yet, you should do it too! Totally recommended, and I'd dare to say this is the best VGM arrangement/tribute album of 2015 year (at least in my opinion). And well, not much more to say that I didn't. Maybe someday I'll write a more complete review of the whole album, as it deserves, but unfortunately my english level is maybe not enough to that xD. Thanks again for the amazing job, and for making it free for all!
I cannot thank enough all the artists who helped me and dedicated their time to create those albums. I truly hope we have been able to do justice to the Castlevania series with this trilogy, and that people will appreciate our hard work. I am far from being good at writing such notes, so I'll keep it short: enjoy, and thank you for everything.
It takes a lot of skill to be this heavy and ensure that you maintain the listeners grasp for a full album without becoming too much of a one trick pony. CABAL have you in the palm of their hand from the first instance and still leave you begging for more once they are through with you. By the time Drag Me Down draws to a close it possesses the energy of an unstoppable juggernaut. The Danish outfit are still a relatively young collective and with a statement of intent as impressive as this there is no limit to what they can achieve. 153554b96e
