Step 1: Download the ISO installer for Mac OS X 10.5.Step 2: Mount the ISO installer to your desktop and unzip the contents of the ISO installer to your desktop. This will contain the MAC OS X 10.5 Installer and some of the associated tools.Step 3: Create a Bootable USB using the Mac OS X 10.5 USB InstallerDouble-click on the MAC OS X 10.5 USB Installer icon to launch the Mac OS X 10.5 USB Installer. For this example we will be making a 16GB USB drive out of a 16GB flash drive.Note: Before you hit Continue, make sure you have selected the proper partition on your flash drive, and the proper amount of space to allocate to the install of Mac OS X.
At this point, you can now boot the new Mac OS X installer off your flash drive and begin the OS X Install process that will return you to the installer or reboot your Mac OS X drive (it depends on what you did in Step 9).
Step 4: Click Continue on the initial introduction window.Step 5: When prompted, select the destination partition on your flash drive.Step 6: Select the amount of space you would like to allocate to Mac OS X.Step 7: Click Continue on the initial introduction window.Step 8: Click on Continue on the migration assistant window.Step 9: It will then begin the process of restoring the system to your flash drive.Step 10: When the restore process completes, you will be prompted with a few options, including the ability to run a restore from the Finder and a restore from Migration Assistant.Note that if you want to restore to your Mac OS X partition, you should select this option, and it will restore the system to your Mac OS X partition, even if it is not the only partition on your flash drive.
The main thing to keep in mind is that, when you are restoring the installer, you should make sure to select the correct partition - as the Apple installer will create the system, and then see if it can auto-mount the other partitions in your internal drive..
You don't need to re-partition, all you need is to format the entire disk and use it as you wish. Don't forget to reset the date/time at installation. You can use any encryption method you want, you can encrypt a partition as well.
I found that, and here is the trick in few words. Use Disk Utility to erase the entire disk, but do not format. Just follow the steps to erase disk and press Command+R again after that to reset the firmware to normal. Now you can format as you wish, encrypt and what have you. You can do all the stuff you can do with a native installation except for the first boot. It will work fine.
Some TVs are slightly different to plug in a USB flash drive. It may be necessary to open up the TV's settings and change the HDMI input to discover whether this is a problem. Some TVs may be able to be set up to detect and use a USB flash drive directly, without the HDMI input being required. For example, with the last generation of Sony TVs, the user is prompted to select a drive to boot to when powering on the TV. 827ec27edc
