Two Tamil comics were success stories of 2017 for Lionmuthu. The reprint of Tamil போல்பேய் விண்மீன் (Blueberry), the first ever Tamil remake of the Hindi film, Bahubali, with an all-new story line and பெட்டியிடம் மாமாக்கு (Painting of Maatam), the remake of a Malayalam film, released in 2016. Both books were released during the Erode Book Fair 2017.

Lionmuthu comics have been brought to limelight by Tamil filmmakers through 2000 {அண்ட்}, நிலைவத் தேவல் and நாம் அதன்பிடம், the movie அனைவரைப் பாருங்கள் and the movie முற்பகலம் வீரம். These achievements have catapulted the comic book in the limelight, encouraging other publishers to work on comics.

This work of Blueberry-Fort is the only Tamil book on the history of the Indian polity, it is a huge achievement for Lionmuthu comics, who are also working on a new Dravidian series based on Prof. Thammaparambil Gandhi and is preparing to publish his book on Thannai Thirudathekal also soon.

The first day of book fair was free for everyone. However, people started to queue up at stalls on day 2 and day 3. People were seen buying books of Lionmuthu comics (Tamil version of Blueberry-Fort). The book fair was really a great event to meet face-to-face with people who were interested in comics, and to be part of the comic community.

Lionmuthu comics, has celebrated its first book fair in Erode town in Tamil Nadu, India. The book fair is an annual event, held at different locations in the region. This year's book fair was held at the Erode Central Library (ECL). The book fair was held during the month of August, 2017. On the first day of book fair, there was a scene of chaotic crowd who had to wait for half an hour to get their book.
